BIT PLUS is committed to protecting your privacy rights online and to transparency about the technologies it uses. In accordance with Articles 12, 13 and 14 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data (the General Data Protection Regulation or “GDPR”), this Policy explains what data we process, for which purposes, to whom we may disclose it and how long we retain it.
This Policy applies to visitors to www.bitplus.hr, people who contact us by email or through the contact form, people who submit an unsolicited application or a job application, and authorised administrators who use the hidden interface.
2. Personal data we collect
Personal data is information that can identify you directly or indirectly. Depending on how you contact us and which function you use, we may process:
- your full name;
- your telephone number and email address;
- the name of the company you work for;
- the content of your enquiry or job application;
- for authorised administrators, the account email address, a one-way password hash and security data needed for login or reset;
- your IP address, location data and other technical data required for internet communication and the operation and security of the website.
We collect data when:
- you contact us by email or through the contact form;
- we process your unsolicited application or job application;
- you sign in as an authorised administrator or request a password reset;
- you visit the website and use one of its functions.
As a rule, you provide personal data voluntarily. The exception is technical data whose transmission is necessary to use internet communication protocols and operate the website securely. We do not request more data than is necessary for a particular activity.
3. Cookies and local storage
The public website does not set cookies. After a successful sign-in, the hidden administration interface sets only an essential signed session cookie to protect access. We do not use cookies for analytics, advertising, marketing or tracking.
Consent is not required for essential cookies needed to provide a service you have requested. The administrator cookie is not set for public visitors and is removed on sign-out or expires after no more than seven days. Details and security attributes are provided in the Cookie Policy.
4. Contact enquiries, email and job applications
The online contact form technically processes and forwards the enquiry through contact.bitplus.hr, which the website owner has confirmed as its own service.
When you send us an enquiry, unsolicited application or job application, the data is used only by authorised persons within BIT PLUS and contracted processors who need it to provide a technical service. Those persons are bound by confidentiality. We process the data to respond, continue our communications and, where applicable, consider potential employment.
Data from email enquiries, unsolicited applications and job applications is retained for up to two years from the date of receipt, unless a longer period is required or permitted by applicable law.
5. Purposes, legal bases and consequences of not providing data
We process personal data only for the purposes for which it was collected:
- to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, including responding to questions, fulfilling requests, sending or receiving a quotation, communicating, and processing an application or job application;
- to investigate suspected fraud, harassment, threats, attacks on systems, or other breaches of the law, website rules or third-party rights;
- to comply with BIT PLUS's legal obligations, including responding to a binding request from a competent authority or court;
- to establish, exercise or defend legal claims and conduct related proceedings.
Depending on the purpose and circumstances, processing is based on taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, compliance with a legal obligation, BIT PLUS's legitimate interests in secure business communications and the protection of systems and legal claims, or your consent where it has been expressly requested.
Providing data is voluntary, but withholding it may prevent BIT PLUS from responding to a request, supplying a quotation, processing an application, entering into a contract or complying with a legal obligation.
6. Recipients and processors
Your personal data may be disclosed, only where this relates to the purposes described above, to:
- providers of postal and email delivery, data processing, customer support and cloud services, who generally act as processors;
- providers that maintain and protect our information systems;
- authorised BIT PLUS employees who are bound by confidentiality;
- BIT PLUS contractors who are subject to an appropriate contractual duty of confidentiality;
- competent services, courts and public authorities where required by applicable law or necessary to protect rights, property or safety;
- business partners for their own purposes only where an appropriate legal basis exists.
We do not sell personal data.
7. Retention periods
We process personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose described, unless a specific period is stated for a particular processing activity. Where processing is based on consent or a legitimate interest, we generally process the data until consent is withdrawn or a valid objection is upheld, unless another legal basis permits continued processing.
We may retain data for longer where required or permitted by applicable law, particularly to comply with a legal obligation or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
8. Your rights
Under applicable law, you have the right to request access to, correction or erasure of your personal data, restriction of processing and, where the relevant conditions are met, data portability. You may object to processing and withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before its withdrawal. You also have the right to receive information about the recipients or categories of recipients to whom the data has been disclosed, particularly recipients in third countries.
You may submit a request to info@bitplus.hr. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority: Croatian Personal Data Protection Agency (AZOP).
9. Automated decision-making and data security
We do not carry out automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects for you.
We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, alteration or disclosure. Access is restricted to people who need it to perform their work.
10. Additional information and contact
Information about services on this website applies only in the Republic of Croatia and does not constitute legal advice.
